Parents Speak:

July 2007

As we sit here folding  and packing our son’s clothing in preparation for his next move- a move to a larger more mainstream Yeshiva, we cannot help to reflect on his journey to where he stands today, and the vital part that Or Menachem has played in his development.

We are sure that you remember our son as he arrived on your doorstep 3 1/2 years ago…

In Or Menachem, he found a very different reality.

He found a staff willing to listen, and to work with him, rather than against him. He found a structured program that supported him as he once again learned to become responsible for his choices, and build his self control.

He found individualized shiurim, at his own pace and his own level of learning.

He found that learning can be interesting, fun, and even helpful.

He found an environment that allowed him to rediscover the good within him, and slowly begin to rebuild his self esteem.

He found friends, friendship, and chance to develop his leadership capabilities.

But most of all, he found success!

He has grown into a fine young man, who is ready to take his place in the Yeshiva world.

And he couldn’t have done it without you!

We want to thank you for all that you have done for him.

Thank G-d that we found you, that you agreed to accept him into your program, and that you were there for him, through the good times, and the very challenging times.

When Rabbi Akiva returned from his many years in Yeshiva, he told his wife that all his learning belonged to her, as she allowed him to stay away for so long.

We would just like to say that all his learning belongs to YOU!!!

May Hashem bentch you with all the brochos and kochos that you need to continue to do your beautiful work.

Sincerely,

Grateful Parents

We are writing to express to you in particular, and to your very special staff.

We commend you for your commitment and dedication to our son this year and to all the boys who have found a home away from home. We realize how much energy goes into this type of school and your success with our son is due to your sincere caring and concern for the well-being of each child. Not only did you create a curriculum based on individual learning levels, but your unwavering belief in the child’s ability to master those goals enhanced the program. You were not taken aback by any negative behaviors that you observed in the boys and slowly over the course of the year, you retrained them.

Your wise decisions in keeping the number of boys small, as well as carefully selecting your staff to achieve the desired goal, is to your credit. I can see that this school is not just a business for you; it is training the next generation to be able to learn, think and care about others...

This was our son’s first time away from home for yeshiva and he felt comfortable there and cared for by the staff... He has a very positive attitude towards learning and we are satisfied and happy that many of his skills have improved. The extra curricular activities and trips really helped to motivate and reward his efforts.

Wishing you a lot of success in your new building and many blessings, including nachas from all your students.

                                                                                                                        Sincerely,

                                                                                                                        Mr. and Mrs.
